Be grateful for the source of your blessings and shouldering our responsibilities.
In 2010, Mr. Wei Pi-Jen, CEO of Chinese Village, learned that Huang Yung-Fu (Rainbow Grandpa) needed help.
To continue Grandpa's philosophy and creative spirit,
after obtaining the formal authorization and transfer of Rainbow Grandpa's copyright,
Rainbow Creative was established to take care of Huang Yung-Fu's daily life and promote Rainbow Village.
Mr. Wei Pi-Jen led the cultural and creative team to settle in the Rainbow Village in Nantun District, Taichung City,
with a focus on continuing the works of Rainbow Grandpa,
promoting the village, and managing and maintaining the entire Rainbow Village while developing diverse cultural and creative products.
Tourists can bring many souvenirs to share with their relatives and friends.
We hope that the world can see the story and scenery here, thus gaining its international fame.
Rainbow Grandpa is too old to stand or climb high to paint for a long time.
The patterns on the walls and ground of Rainbow Village fade and peel over time due to sun and rain
exposure and the daily influx of a large number of visitors making them unable to be preserved permanently.
Therefore, Rainbow Creative has taken over the painting,
periodical repairing, and coloring under the guidance of Rainbow Grandpa,
and created new wall designs to keep Rainbow Village vibrant and continuously innovative.
Rainbow Creative spends millions of New Taiwan Dollars annually to operate and maintain Rainbow Village.
It periodically recreates and adapts the wall and ground paintings,
updates the murals with diverse changes,
and integrates painting with local culture to design and develop various cultural and creative products.
Additionally, it incorporates Chinese traditional culture and Taiwanese folk customs into the designs through visual experiences and unique hidden code elements,
hoping that domestic and international tourists will visit Rainbow Village every year.
Everyone can come to Rainbow Village to experience a different and innovative atmosphere.
Rainbow Village has never been a cultural asset or historic site; it is classified as road and parkland. Additionally,
the unstable foundation and erosion issues cannot be fundamentally resolved.
Professional engineers have assessed that the village may gradually collapse in the future,
and the houses may face demolition,
making it unsuitable for long-term development.
Therefore, when the adoption contract with the Cultural Affairs Bureau expired in 2022,
Rainbow Creative relocated and restored the site to its original state as per the contract signed in 2017.
However, we were sued for damage. After two years of legal proceedings,
the judge saw the truth and cleared our company of wrongdoing.
Rainbow Creative was involved in Case No. 2992 of 2022 and Case No. 745 of 2023 ruled by the Taichung District Court and won the lawsuits.
Finally, justice has been served to Rainbow Creative.
Rainbow Creative is the copyright owner and creator of the wall paintings,
not the destroyer. Looking back to the past 10 years,
we will not stop here. Instead, we will be more dedicated to creating different facets,
hoping to rebuild in a new place in the future, spreading and conveying richer elements to the world.
